Typical Kitchen Process
Connect.
Each project begins with a discovery phase. Between the initial connection either by email or phone and an on-site consultation meeting, we come up with an understanding of aesthetic goals, functionality requirements, initial ideas on materials and layout, and an idea on the project budget. This is the time to show inspirational photos, discuss what you don’t like about your current space, and start to get excited about what’s ahead.
Design.
After the discovery phase, we move onto the kitchen design phase. Preliminary CAD drawings will be produced to solidify a floorplan. After an approved floorplan, a full set of scalable CAD construction drawings are done to be used on-site by your contractor. These plans typically include a floorplan, reflected ceiling plan, elevations, custom millwork plans, and any other drawings that become necessary for your specific project. Optional renderings can also be done for a 3D visual. Material specifications are being done simultaneously at this point, and after these are completed, we sit down for a presentation meeting. This presentation includes physical samples, your construction drawings, quotes, and a discussion on moving forward with design implementation. Upon approval, materials are ordered and scheduled to be delivered on-site.
Make it happen.
Your project is ready for the construction phase. Oversite will be provided to ensure a smooth construction process. When the project contractor has questions or concerns that arise during this phase, they are to be directed towards the designer. On-site visits will also be provided periodically and as needed. After construction has ended, we schedule a day for styling, and final photos are taken.
